The UN drew attention to the water blockade of Crimea

Organization’s representatives requested additional information about water supply to Crimea’s citizens and blocking by Kiev of resource supplies via the North-Crimean channel.

As “Economy Today” reports with reference to RIA Novosti, the official representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Elizabeth Trossell stated that the responsibility for drinking water supply to Crimea’s residents fully lies both on Russia and Ukraine.

“The right to safe and clean drinking water and sanitation is recognized by UN General Assembly as one of human rights”, – said Trossell.
