The heads of agencies discussed a range of issues related to deepening defense and strategic partnership.
India’s military chief, Rajnath Singh, highly appreciated his working meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in Moscow on Thursday.
“An excellent meeting in Moscow with Russian Minister Sergei Shoigu. We discussed a wide range of issues, especially concerning the deepening of our countries’ defense and strategic partnership”, – Singh wrote on his Twitter page on Friday. – “Russia and India are privileged strategic partners. I hope for further deepening of cooperation between our countries”, – he said.
At a meeting with his Indian counterpart, Shoigu noted the enormous potential for bilateral cooperation. “Russia and India are equal partners in world affairs. Our countries are supporters of a multipolar democratic system of international relations based on strict observance of legal norms and based on the central role of the UN,” he said.
Shoigu also expressed hope that the potential of Russian-Indian cooperation will continue to be realized for the benefit of the two countries. He thanked Singh for attending the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War on June 24.
According to the press service of the Russian military department, Shoigu and Singh reviewed the issues of military and military-technical cooperation, and expressed the mood for “further strengthening of multidimensional relations in the spirit of a particularly privileged strategic partnership.
