Lampedusa: nearly 370 migrants rescued from an old fishing boat

Nearly 370 migrants reached the southern Italian island of Lampedusa on Sunday evening. The migrants were aboard an unfit fishing vessel.

On Sunday evening, nearly 370 people arrived by fishing boat on the southern Italian island of Lampedusa. The boat was taken to the port by the Italian Coast Guard and Police.

This is reported by the Ansa news agency. According to the mayor of Lampedusa, Toto Martello, there were 13 women and 33 children on board.

Before 367 people were taken to a reception center on the island, they underwent a medical examination in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
