Beijing increases oil imports from Iran

China has resumed importing oil from Iran, but according to media reports, it imports much more Iranian oil than officially declared.

It is reported that Tehran is trying to circumvent U.S. sanctions against the Iranian oil industry through various tricks.

Beijing has again started importing oil from the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is evidenced by the official data from China, published last week. It is reported that in July, China imported 120 000 barrels of oil per day from Iran.

However, some reports and investigations by the media and tanker tracking companies show that China gets much more oil from Iran than the official data.
