Greece responded to Turkey’s war threats

Despite the unprecedented threats of war in Ankara, Greece will continue to defend its rights in the Mediterranean.

Such a statement on Saturday, August 29, was made at the Greek Foreign Ministry, commenting on the statement of the Turkish side about a possible armed conflict between the countries.

Earlier, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay threatened war if Greece expands its territorial waters to 12 nautical miles, that is, 2 times.

“Turkey’s unprecedented notion that it can threaten neighboring countries with the use of force when they exercise their legitimate rights is contrary to modern political culture, as well as the fundamental provisions of international law. We call on Turkey to realize that international law and the values on which the modern international order is built are binding on all countries of the world. They are not applied selectively, and the international community is obliged to protect them, since their violation indicates the maximum risk, ”the Greek Foreign Ministry said.
