American Ambassador to Moldova Derek J. Hogan worries about the “health of democracy” in the country.
He expressed his concerns on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the declaration of independence of Moldova.
“We must not forget about the health of democracy in the Republic of Moldova. The leaders of the Republic of Moldova must continue to work on the development of independent state institutions, the fight against corruption and the protection of human rights. We will closely monitor the state of affairs in the context of the upcoming presidential elections and must do everything possible to ensure that the elections are free, fair and transparent. Citizens of the Republic of Moldova deserve honest and responsible leaders, they deserve the right to make life better for themselves and for future generations”, – Hogan said.
Well, there is no doubt that the States will “follow” the elections in Moldova.
