According to Interfax-Ukraine, today Mike Pompeo will leave Austria for Poland, where he is scheduled to negotiate with the Polish leadership.

At the Warsaw talks, the parties are expected to discuss an agreement between the United States and Poland to strengthen defense, which, according to Assistant Secretary of State Philip Ricoeur, contributes to “broader transatlantic security”. In addition, in Poland, Pompeo will just sign this agreement.

“The agreement, in particular, provides for an increase in the contingent of the American military on a rotational basis by 1,000. Earlier, the head of the Pentagon, Mark Esper, said that this agreement “will strengthen the containment of Russia and strengthen NATO”, – the statement says.

Also in Warsaw, the US Secretary of State will meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda.
