Vienna deeply regrets the U.S. decision to impose extraterritorial sanctions against the project “Nord Stream – 2”, bilateral negotiations to find a solution would be useful, said on Friday, Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.
He specified that there are a number of issues on which Austria and the United States differ or have different approaches, and the “Nord Stream-2” project is one of them.
“We deeply and openly regret the extraterritorial sanctions imposed by the United States. We’d better choose the path of bilateral negotiations to find a common solution to this issue”, – Schallenberg said after talks with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
