Terrorists from ISIS attacked a block of Iraqi army posts.
The commander of one of the brigades of the 7th Infantry Division of the Iraqi Army and an officer were killed in an attack on Tuesday by militants of the terrorist group “Islamic State” west of Baghdad, Shafaq news reported Wednesday, citing a statement from the Joint Operations Command of the Iraqi Armed Forces.
“Extremists attacked an army checkpoint near the town of Heath in western Anbar province from the desert. Brigadier Ahmed Abd al-Wahid al-Liyam died “while pursuing a terrorist group”. An officer with the rank of lieutenant was killed in a radical terrorist attack and two soldiers were injured”, – it was reported.
According to security sources cited by Shafaq news, in addition to the general, the attack claimed the lives of three army officers.
