The US government held two videoconferences with German and European contractors. They threatened them with “consequences” for the construction of the gas pipeline. Officials from the US Treasury, the Ministry of Energy and the State Department dealt with this issue.
They did not try to hide their goal: to prevent the completion of the construction of Nord Stream 2.
