Iran called long-term agreements with China and Russia as part of a balanced policy

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said that “the Iranian side intends to continue this policy”.

According to TASS, on Saturday on his Twitter page, the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Mousavi, said that long-term agreements with China and Russia are part of Iran’s policy to build balanced relations with the countries of Eurasia.

“For many years Iran has been pursuing a policy of maintaining friendly and balanced relations with all forces in Eurasia <…>. The planned conclusion of an agreement on long-term cooperation with China and Russia, as well as the continuation of joint work with India over the port of Chabahar confirm this”, – Mousavi wrote.

Recall that on July 21, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, said that Tehran and Moscow had agreed to update the 2001 Treaty on the Foundations of Relations and Principles of Cooperation between the countries.
