The British Parliamentary Intelligence Committee will publish a report on the alleged Russian interference in British politics on Tuesday at 10.30 (12.30 Moscow time), the committee said in a statement.
“The report of the committee on Russia, prepared by the previous composition of the committee, will be presented to parliament at 10.30 (12.30 Moscow time) on Tuesday 21 July. It will be available on the committee’s website”, – the statement said.
The text of the 50-page report was submitted to the Prime Minister’s office on October 17 last year. The government then slowed down the publication, citing the fact that the publication of the document should be preceded by “certain processes”. The new intelligence and security committee was formed this week, paving the way for the report to be published.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, while still holding the post of head of the British Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the UK does not have data on Russia’s interference in the Brexit referendum and other political processes.
Russia has repeatedly denied accusations of attempts to influence democratic processes in different countries, and the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov called them “absolutely unfounded”. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking about the alleged Russian interference in elections in different countries, said that there were no facts to confirm this.
