The riots in Belgrade had nothing to do with the quarantine restrictions imposed in the republic.
This statement was made by the President of Serbia, Alexander Vucic.
As News Front previously reported, quarantine was introduced in the country after a new outbreak of coronavirus. Under the pretext of dissatisfaction with the restrictions in Belgrade, a protest broke out, which quickly grew into riots. The radicals tried to seize the parliament building.
According to Vučić, the responsibility for the pogroms lies with the right-wing extremists who pursued specific political goals. He emphasized that the action was well planned. According to the Serbian secret services, “foreign organizations are involved in her organization.”
“I clearly see the disappointment of those who failed to enter the parliament, however, you have no right to jeopardize the lives of law enforcement officers and break into state bodies.
Serbia will not allow anyone to threaten peace and stability, both from within the country and from the outside. There will be no compromise with criminals, ” the president said.
