Monuments continue to be demolished in the USA. The authorities succumbed to the pressure of unrest and do it themselves.
So, in Richmond, the sixth monument to the Confederates was removed.
The last monument was in honor of soldiers and sailors. It was installed in 1894. The height of the monument was 30.5 meters. Around him they wrote “BLM” and “TAKE IT DOWN.”
The decision to remove the monuments was made by the mayor of Richmond, Levar Stony. He ordered that all monuments “reminiscent of racism and slavery” be removed.
