The scandalous oligarch and corruption official Vladimir Plahotniuc is very much expected in Moldova.
This statement was made by the head of the republic Igor Dodon.
He expressed hope that the extradition of Plahotniuc would take place “in the coming months”.
“A lot of people are waiting for him in Moldova to answer for all the years of usurpation of power. I hope that this will happen in the near future”, – the president said.
As News Front previously reported, in Moldova, Plahotniuc is accused of laundering money on an especially large scale. The oligarch himself takes refuge in the United States, despite the fact that he was included in the sanctions list there. In May, a Chisinau court issued a warrant for the absentee arrest of Plahotniuc for 30 days.
It is worth noting that Russia is also looking for a Moldovan oligarch. Back in 2017, a Moscow court declared Plahotniuc on the international wanted list in the case of attempted murder. In addition, the oligarch managed a criminal group, which in 2013-2014 withdrew more than 37 billion rubles from the Russian Federation. He is also involved in the drug trade.
