The Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina acquired three Russian Ansat helicopters for the needs of its police, the first of which will be delivered to the republic in September this year, Milorad Dodik, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, told the reporters.
Member of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Serbs Milorad Dodik on Wednesday visited the Victory Parade in Moscow.
“The Republika Srpska acquired three Russian Ansat helicopters for the needs of our police. The first one will arrive in the Republika Srpska in September this year”, – Dodik said.
“Despite all the pressure that was exerted by the Western partners to prevent this procurement from taking place, we nevertheless carried it out”, – the source said.
The BiH Interior Ministry in January this year announced the selection of a supplier of three helicopters in the amount of about 22 million euros. The Russian Helicopters were indicated as a sole participant in the competition; we are talking about three Ansat light vehicles. The delivery of light helicopters from Kazan was expected in September 2020, May 2021 and January 2022.
The helicopter service of RS BiH now has three helicopters CA-341/342 (Aerospatiale Gazelle) and one Bell 206 JetRanger. The service performs medical evacuation and transportation in the Republika Srpska, helps with operations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, and trains pilots.
