US will build a new military storage base in Poland

In the summer of 2020, the construction of a base for the early storage of the US armed forces will begin in the Polish city of Powids.

It will host heavy military equipment in the amount of 85 M1A2 Abrams tanks, 130 M2/M3 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and 18 M109A6/A7 Paladin self-propelled artillery mounts. This is a standard kit of the American armored brigade.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2022. The cost of the work is 183 million dollars. The money was allocated to Americans as part of the NATO Security Investment Program (NSIP) in 2019.
