At least eight people were killed in an armed attack in Khost province in eastern Afghanistan, 1TV News reported citing a statement by the local police.
It is reported that the attack occurred on Friday evening in Alisher County, with eight people killed, including a member of Hezb-e-Islami (Islamic Party of Afghanistan).
Responsibility for the attack has not yet been claimed by any of the groups operating in the country.
In Afghanistan, there is a confrontation between government forces and the militants of the radical Taliban movement, which had previously captured a significant territory in rural areas of the country and launched an attack on large cities. Also, the influence of the Islamic State terrorist group* has intensified in the country.
