President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko calls for abandoning the practice of asking for oil and gas, because the republic has non-standard, but its own energy sources.
He made such a statement on Friday, June 12, at a meeting in Polotsk.
According to him, habitual resources can be replaced with peat, wood chips and even sawdust.
“They are literally lying underfoot,” Lukashenko said. – And we have to travel and beg for natural gas and oil. We must use it. ”
The President emphasized that in the Vitebsk region they had already learned to use domestic fuel substitutes. We are talking about pellets – granular biofuel, for the manufacture of which peat, wood waste and agricultural waste are used. Lukashenko called for further dissemination of this experience throughout the country, as well as taking control of pellet production so that pellet producers do not compete with each other.
“We will compete with each other – we will lower the price, we will go to negative indicators of profitability,” the president explained.
