Media: the Syrian army has regained control of two villages in northern Hama province

According to the Al-Masdar portal, the operation to liberate the villages of El-Manara and El-Fatrach was supported by aviation and artillery.

Syrian army soldiers returned to control on Monday the villages of Al-Manara and Al-Fatrah in the northern province of Hama, which had been captured by terrorists from the Khoras al-Din group. According to the Al-Masdar news portal, the operation to liberate the two villages was supported by aviation and artillery, which attacked gangs. The militants suffered losses and retreated into Idlib province.

Earlier, Khoras al-Din gangs affiliated to the Al-Qaida terrorist network (banned in the Russian Federation) had infiltrated into the Al-Ghab al-Shimali area in northern Hama province, from where army positions were attacked. Under strikes from superior enemy forces, Syrian troops retreated from Manarah and Al-Fatrach to avoid wasting casualties. However, in the afternoon after the arrival of reinforcements, the troops retaliated and regained control of the lost positions.

According to the Russian Centre for Mediation of the Warring Parties in Syria, the terrorists broke through the defence by 600 metres in the southern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone. The attack was repulsed by backfire from aircraft and artillery. The enemy lost more than 30 people killed and injured, and three pickup trucks carrying heavy machine guns were also destroyed.
