“Provide evidence.” China responds to the U.S. Senator over claims for COVID-19 vaccine

The story is not new: the United States continues to blame China without proof.

China is responding to US Senator Rick Scott’s accusation that Beijing is trying to slow down or sabotage the development of COVID-19 vaccine by Western countries, saying the senator must present evidence of his accusation.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying made these comments during a daily briefing on Monday in response to Scott’s comments in an interview on Sunday.

The U.S. should promise to make its COVID-19 vaccine a global public good when it is available, Hua said, adding that research and development of the coronavirus vaccine is not a competition between China and the U.S., but a battle between humans and the coronavirus.
