State Duma advises the US to “get out” of Syria, points out its illegal presence there

The US should think about how to “get out” of Syria and not interfere with the normalization of life in the country, and pay attention to its internal problems, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Krasov said.

Earlier, the US Assistant Secretary of State David Schenker said Russia should “get out of the Middle East”, because it plays a “destructive role” there. He also reiterated the thesis of the current US President Donald Trump that the administration of previous President Barack Obama “welcomed the Russians to Syria” to help the country’s leader Bashar Assad, believing that this would “drag the Russians into a quagmire”. However, the Russians changed the course of the war, and Assad’s regime still remains, it was the failure of the Obama administration, said the Assistant secretary of state.

“The US administration can make any statements, but can it address itself first of all, so that the US military would get away just from Syria? Because Russia with colleagues from Iran and the SAR stand for the US to finally leave all these terrorist organizations and disappear from the suffering land Syria, so it could begin a normal life”, – Krasov said, emphasizing that the Russian Federation, unlike the United States, is legally in the SAR, at the invitation of the Syrian leadership.

He noted that American troops are not only illegally in Syria, but there is evidence that the United States uses the natural resources of the ATS for its own purposes and supports terrorist organizations in the region.

The parliamentarian also noted that it is not up to the United States to decide who to be president in a particular country.

“Better pay attention to your internal problems”, – Krasov added.
