Residents of Syrian village blocked path of American military convoy

Syrian troops and residents of the village of Abu Rasein blocked the path of an American military convoy in the province of Hasek in the north-east of the country, according to the Syrian state agency SANA.

“Soldiers from the Syrian Arab army and a number of citizens from the settlement of Abu Rasein blocked the way for a convoy of American occupying forces of eight military vehicles trying to pass from the settlement ad Dardar to Abu Rasein, forced it to retreat and return to illegal bases in the region”, – the agency said in a statement.

The Syrian authorities have repeatedly stated that the presence of an American contingent in the country violates the sovereignty of the state and all international rules.

The armed conflict in Syria has been ongoing since 2011. At the end of 2017, a victory was announced over the ISIS* terrorist group in Syria and Iraq. In some areas of the country, stripping from militants continues. At the moment, a political settlement, the restoration of Syria, and the return of refugees are in the forefront.
