Chinese Foreign Ministry responds to the Trump adviser’s words about vaccine against coronavirus

Beijing considers Washington’s allegations that China might try to steal an American vaccine against coronavirus unfounded, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said.

“The US statements are unfounded. China has made significant progress in developing a vaccine for COVID-19, why should we look at the United States”, – the reporters quoted the diplomat as saying.

According to him, no matter which country is the first to complete the development of the vaccine, this will be a significant contribution to the fight against the virus.

The representative of the ministry emphasized that it was not a race between countries, but between humanity and the virus, and noted China’s willingness to share its research experience.

Earlier, Presidential Adviser on National Security Robert O’Brien said that China could try to steal the COVID-19 vaccine from the United States.
