Top manufacturer of military equipment in US is preparing for bankruptcy

Autumn 2020 will be decisive for many American corporations, because it is then that state support will cease.

This was told by Dave Calhoun, CEO of Boeing Corporation, which is one of the top three arms and military equipment manufacturers along with Lockheed Martin and Raytheon.

In an interview with NBC, Calhoun admitted that the company didn’t rule out bankruptcy, as customers delay orders and air travel will not soon return to pre-crisis levels. When asked if the company could scale back its activities, Calhoun answered: “Yes, most likely”. It is worth noting that last month, Boeing management has already decided to cut 16 thousand jobs and reduce aircraft production.

“Something will happen when September comes. Traffic levels will not return to 100%. They will not even return to 25%. Perhaps by the end of the year we will approach 50%. So, of course, adjustments will be made by the airlines”, – Calhoun complains.

Boeing Corporation is known not only for civilian aircraft, but also for military developments. It produced the B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers, strike and reconnaissance drones, as well as the AGM-69 and AGM-86 missiles.

The company’s stocks plummeted at the beginning of this year amid the coronavirus pandemic. So, if in the first half of February the cost reached almost 350 dollars, then at the end of March the price fell to 95 dollars. Boeing Co stocks currently cost less than $129.
