The U.S. Secretary of State reiterated that Washington has yet to receive information from the Chinese authorities on the outbreak of the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
The American Administration is in constant contact with the Chinese side in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic. This statement was made on Wednesday by U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in an interview with Fox Business.
Pompeo reiterated that Washington had yet to receive information from the Chinese authorities about the outbreak of the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
“We continue to insist that the Chinese government transfer samples [of the virus] so that Western [experts] can have access to these laboratories”, – the secretary of state said. – “We still need information not only to work in this crisis, but also to do our best to ensure that something like this does not happen again.”
When asked by the presenter whether the representatives of the American administration maintain contacts with their Chinese colleagues, Pompeo answered in the affirmative.
“Yes, we are constantly negotiating, urging them to do what I have just said”, – said the Foreign Minister.
