EAEU prepared draft COVID-19 prevention plan

The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, on the initiative of Rospotrebnadzor, have prepared a draft comprehensive plan to prevent the spread of coronavirus, providing for the development of unified approaches to laboratory research and the creation of a common monitoring system for infectious diseases.

This is reported by Rospotrebnadzor website on Monday.

“The document provides for the development in the EAEU space of unified methodological approaches to laboratory research, the creation of a common system for the operational monitoring of infectious diseases, staff training, interstate exercises and research on the development of vaccines and diagnostic test systems for the most relevant infectious diseases in the region. Adoption of the document is expected during the next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council”, – the statement said.

It is added that the implementation of the comprehensive plan will normalize the epidemiological situation in the EAEU countries for the new coronavirus, as well as strengthen the capacity of states in the field of prevention and response to infectious threats.

The World Health Organization on March 11 announced an outbreak of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 with a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, more than 3.3 million cases of infection have been recorded in the world, about 240 thousand people have died.
