Militant mercenaries from Colombia have tried to invade Venezuela. This was stated by Interior Minister Nestor Reverol.
He reported that the goal was the leaders of the legitimate government of Venezuela. A group of militants were trying to get into the country from the sea. They arrived at the coast of La Guaira, about 32 km from Caracas, in speedboats on Sunday morning.
During the counter-insurgency, eight of them were killed. Two more were apprehended. One of the speedboats sank.
