It is unprofitable for the Democratic Party of Moldova to unite with the right, but it is difficult to predict its future actions.
This was told by a former deputy of the Moldovan parliament, Viktor Stepaniuc, in a comment for the eNews publication.
According to him, a coalition between the Pro Moldova group, which is lobbying for the interests of runaway oligarchs, and the pro-Western opposition of Maya Sandu and Andrei Nastase is really possible. However, the issue of joining them with the PDM is still open.
“For the Democratic Party in recent months, the situation is complicated. She needs to be cleansed from the mistakes and sins of the former leader [Vladimir Plahotniuc], ”the expert says. “Most deputies prefer to leave the past and cooperate with the ruling Party of Socialists in the framework of the coalition.”
At the same time, Stepaniuc admitted that Plahotniuc still has enough resources to exert pressure on former associates.
