The head of the Serbian Ministry of Labor called the assistance of Russian specialists in the fight against the pandemic invaluable

Zoran Djordjevic reminded that the assistance to the republic came from many countries, but emphasized the role of China and Russia.

Russian experts have provided invaluable assistance to Serbia in its fight against the Coronavirus epidemic. This was stated by Serbian Labor, Employment and Social Affairs Minister Zoran Djordjevic in an interview with TASS.

“Thanks to the responsible policy of the Serbian government and President Aleksandar Vucic, the measures proposed by specialists and taken on the basis of the experience of the protection of citizens gained in China, which was the first to face this contagion. Chinese experts, while in Serbia, have further developed the protection measures. An invaluable contribution was made by Russian experts in the field of disinfection measures. In any case, as practice has shown, the measures taken were timely and covered both the population and economic entities”, –  the minister said.

According to Djordjevic, Serbia is going through a pandemic with little consequences.

“The lack of protective equipment and artificial lung ventilation devices, which are most needed for the treatment of this disease, has been overcome by Serbia, thanks to the friendly People’s Republic of China, as well as the help of our friends from the Russian Federation. At the moment, the situation with medical equipment in the country has been fully stabilized, and production of certain protective equipment has started. In that way, Serbia today not only has regular production, but also the ability to provide assistance to the countries that need it, in just a few weeks with the support and assistance of friendly countries”, –  he said.

The minister recalled that the assistance to Serbia had come from many countries, but emphasized the role of China and Russia: “Serbia has received the highest level of assistance from China from the very beginning, followed by the great assistance from the Russian Federation, which also meant a lot to us, both in the professional sense and in concrete donations. The assistance came from all sides, and Serbia now has many friends, so along with China and Russia, the assistance came from Norway, the European Union, the UAE and the United States”.
