Lavrov announces working out of the date of videoconference by the “five” of UN Security Council

The countries of the “five” permanent members of the UN Security Council are working on a specific day for the summit in the form of a videoconference. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

According to him, the “five” is thinking about how to contribute to the fight against coronavirus infection.

“For this purpose, a videoconference has been agreed in principle, now it’s being decided which day it can take place”, – Lavrov said during an online lecture for MGIMO students.

Earlier, the Kremlin said that work is underway to agree on a possible joint document.

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed organizing a meeting of leaders of countries that are permanent members of the UN Security Council. All states supported the initiative.
