According to the representative office, for this purpose biolaboratories financed by the Pentagon work in Ukraine.
“The U.S. Defense Department’s program to counteract biological threat is working in Ukraine in cooperation with the Ukrainian government to ensure consolidated and secure storage of pathogens and threatening toxins”, – the U.S. Embassy said in an official statement.
At the same time, it is said that all this is necessary for conducting “peaceful research”.
As Ukrainian News Front reported earlier, members of the opposition platform sent requests to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, as well as to the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Health Ministry about the legality of the US laboratories operating in Ukraine. Moreover, the MPs drew attention to the fact that the construction and location of facilities suspiciously coincides with hotbeds of infectious diseases. A communiqué issued by the US embassy was a reaction to the MPs’ actions.
