On April 21, the US and South Korea discussed recent missile launches by the DPRK as part of the integrated dialogue between representatives of the two countries’ defense agencies (KIDD). This was reported in an official statement published on the Pentagon’s website.
“The parties exchanged assessments of DPRK’s recent missile launches and reaffirmed the importance of continued close cooperation to maintain vigilance in the face of DPRK actions. In addition, the sides pledged to cooperate in achieving complete denuclearization of DPRK”, – the agency said.
The statement also notes that the U.S. and South Korean defense ministries discussed cooperation in combating the Coronavirus pandemic.
On April 14, the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces reported that the DPRK launched several anti-ship cruise missiles of “air-to-surface” type into the waters of the Sea of Japan from the area of the coastal city of Munchon at 07:00 (01:00 Moscow time). The DPRK Air Force fighters were launched, the missiles flew about 150 km and fell into the water.
