The Ukrainian side rejected the proposal of the DPR on the exchange of prisoners according to the formula proposed during the videoconference of the Contact Group for the Peaceful Resolution of the Conflict in Donbass.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic, the representative of the DPR in the humanitarian subgroup Daria Morozova spoke about the outcome of the meeting of the Contact Group.
“The DPR insists on an early exchange in connection with the difficult epidemiological situation in the world. For this reason, on March 26, during the meeting of TLC, we put forward a proposal for an exchange according to the formula 10 by 8.
The Ukrainian side categorically refused our proposal, ”Morozova said.“ It seems that official Kiev intentionally sabotages any actions aimed at preparing subsequent exchanges, treating in its own way the agreements that it had previously signed. Such steps do not bring us closer to the world, nor do the detained persons bring closer to returning home to their relatives and friends. ”
Earlier, the exchange of prisoners was discussed during the negotiations of the Minsk subgroup on humanitarian issues, which took place on March 25 in video format. Instead of confirming the information about the detainees, the Ukrainian negotiators presented a list of wanted persons, missing persons and released from prison.
