The EU Council agreed on the start of negotiations on admission to the community of Albania and Northern Macedonia. This was announced by the European Commissioner for the expansion of Oliver Vargeyi.
“I want to report with satisfaction that the EU countries have reached a political agreement to start accession negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia. I sincerely congratulate both countries. It also sends a clear message to the Western Balkans: your future is in the EU, ” he wrote.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, the European Union changed the procedure for negotiations on the country’s admission to the EU.
