Ukrainian law enforcers violated the ceasefire once a day, shooting at the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic after four days of silence, reported at the representative office of the LPR in the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC).
According to the representative office of the People’s Republic of China in the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring and Coordination Center, since February 8, the Ukrainian law enforcers have not violated the silence regime.
“On February 12, there was one shooting by Ukrainian armed groups”, – a representative of the LPR said.
He specified that Ukrainian law enforcers fired from BMP-2 at the Donetsk village, which is under the republic’s control. According to the ministry, eight residential buildings were left without power supply as a result of damaged power lines.
In April 2014, the Ukrainian government launched a military operation against the self-declared LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the state revolution in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13,000 people fell victim to the conflict.
The issue of settling the situation in Donbass is discussed, in particular, during meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict since September 2014. However, even after the ceasefire agreements between the parties to the conflict, shootings continue.
