The United States destroyed one of the leaders of the al-Qaeda terrorist group* Qashima al-Rimi during the counter-terrorist operation in Yemen, a statement by the US President Donald Trump reports.
“At the direction of President Donald J. Trump, the United States conducted a counter-terrorist operation in Yemen, which resulted in the liquidation of Qasim al-Rimi, the founder and leader of al-Qaeda* on the Arabian Peninsula”, – the statement says.
Trump noted that its elimination is a blow to Al-Qaeda* and “brings us closer to eradicating the US’s national security threats from this group”.
“We will continue to protect the American people by tracking down and destroying terrorists who seek to harm us”, – the US president emphasized.
