Maas announced the first meeting of Libya’s military committee

The Military Committee of Libya will hold its first meeting this week, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said.


The establishment of the military committee was announced after the conference on Libya in Berlin on January 19. The parties to the conflict in Libya will be represented in the committee by delegations of five people, the work will be carried out in Geneva.

“It is important that this week the military committee will hold its first meeting”, –  he said after talks with EU diplomacy head Joseph Borrell in Berlin.

He recalled that the purpose of the military committee is to negotiate a full ceasefire in Libya.
