Syrian troops retreated in Idlib under a massive attack by militants

Syrian government troops under pressure of militants’ offensive have left their own positions in the southeast part of Idlib de-escalation zone, told the Russian center of reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria.

“The attack was preceded by massive firing preparations with the use of “ballonettes”, multiple rocket launchers, handmade UAVs. As a result of the militants’ fire the units of Syrian troops were forced to leave their positions and move to the south”, – the report says.

The attack took place in the evening of January 22. Up to 200 members of the Islamic Party of Turkestan with the support of 20 pickup trucks, one tank, two BMPs and two “jihad cars” attacked the positions of the Syrian Armed Forces in the direction of Abu Jraif – Female.

Recall that buildings damaged during the fighting are being reconstructed in Aleppo.
