Johnson said the UK is ready to withdraw from the EU January 31

Downing Street stresses that the parties will have time to complete the necessary formalities.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is confident that after the approval of the bill on Brexit by both houses of parliament, the kingdom is ready to leave the EU by the scheduled date – January 31. The Prime Minister’s statement to this effect was circulated by the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday evening at 10 Downing Street.

“Parliament has passed a bill on withdrawal from the European Union, which means that the United Kingdom will leave the EU on 31 January and will move forward as one. At times it seemed like we would never cross the Brexit finish line, but we finally did”, – Johnson said, calling for an end to the fighting between Brexit supporters and opponents and for a focus on solving the Kingdom’s pressing problems, fighting crime and improving hospitals.

Following the approval of the House of Lords of the British Parliament on Wednesday night, the Brexit Bill is due to be signed by Queen Elizabeth II. It is expected to be signed by Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday or Friday, after which the document stipulating the conditions for the country’s exit from the EU will become law. This will allow the UK and EU to ratify the Brexit conditionality agreement, which should be done in the coming days. Head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel will sign the necessary documents in Brussels on Friday, and the agreement will have to be finally approved by the European Parliament on January 29.

Downing Street underlines that the parties will have time to meet all the necessary formalities and the UK will be ready to leave the EU by 23:00 on January 31 local time.
