Violent protests in Beirut, Lebanon

The police used tear gas grenades to disperse the demonstrators at the Parliament’s task in the center of Beirut, a direct participant in clashes with law enforcement officials told the reporters.

A massive demonstration in the Lebanese capital began against the new government, whose composition was approved by President Michel Aoun on Tuesday evening.

“The police began to use tear gas and pepper gas to drive us away. But we will go through their cordons and go into the Parliament building, this is our right. The government (of Prime Minister Hassan) Diyab will not pass”, – the agency’s interlocutor said.
