The prosecution will be represented at the Senate hearing by the head of the Intelligence Committee and one of Trump’s most demonized Democrat congressmen, Adam Schiff.
The impeachment case before the Senate includes two articles of the prosecution:
Excess of authority – Trump tried to delay the payment of military aid to Ukraine so that Kiev could launch an investigation against Biden.
Obstruction of Congress – Trump personally refused to testify and forbade administrative staff to do so.
The Senate is the last instance in the impeachment process. In order to remove Trump from office, the Democrats would need two-thirds of the vote in the upper house of Congress. Given the Republican majority in the Senate, it’s unlikely…
