German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will visit Moscow on January 11 as part of a delegation of Chancellor Angela Merkel, said official representative of the German Cabinet of Ministers Steffen Seibert.
Earlier, the Kremlin said that Merkel will pay a working visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I have an announcement for the coming Saturday, January 11, the Chancellor will visit Moscow on a short working visit. Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will participate in this visit. There she will hold talks with President Putin in the Kremlin on topical international issues – Syria, Libya, Iraq, Iran and Ukraine – as well as bilateral issues”, – Seibert said at a briefing on Monday.
According to him, a press conference is planned.
Seibert noted that “efforts to achieve new progress in the settlement in Ukraine will be one of the topics”.
