Pushkov praised Trump’s words about attacks on 52 targets in Iran

Member of the Federation Council Alexei Pushkov called Donald Trump’s statement about his readiness to strike at 52 Iranian targets, including cultural objects, a confirmation of the forecast about the likelihood of a US missile war against Iran.

“But in the event of Iran retaliating against US bases in the region, the US will have to expand military operations. And Trump will get his big war”.

Chairman of the Council of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy Alexei Pushkov before a meeting of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Trump announced his readiness to deliver a “quick and powerful blow” in the event of an attack on the Americans. The 52 goals mentioned by the American leader correlate with the number of Americans captured in Iran in November 1979 after the Islamic revolution in the country. Words about the possibility of an attack on cultural objects violate international law.

In turn, the commander of the armed forces of Iran Abdulrahim Mousavi said that Washington would not dare to take this step.

Trump’s threats were voiced after Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rouhani promised to avenge the United States for the assassination of Al-Quds special forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGF, Iran’s elite units) General Kassem Suleimani. The US president later criticized these allegations, calling the general a “terrorist leader”.

On the night of Friday, January 3, the United States launched a missile strike at the Baghdad International Airport. As a result, more than ten people died, including General Kassem Suleimani, as well as the deputy head of the Shiite militia of Iraq, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

The U.S. Department of Defense said the attack was sanctioned by Donald Trump.
