A Belgian court decided to suspend a European arrest warrant for the former head of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemon, in Spain. This was reported by Puchdemon himself.
“Belgian justice recognizes our immunity and decides to suspend an arrest warrant and extradition”, – he wrote on Twitter.
In October, a Spanish court issued a new European arrest warrant for Puigdemont, after which the former head of Catalonia voluntarily came to the Belgian prosecutor’s office with lawyers.
As noted in the Brussels prosecutor’s office, they will be able to start analyzing the Spanish arrest warrant later, after receiving the official translation of the document.
