The demonstrators unfurled the banners of the formation, which was shelled by the US armed forces, and began to chant: “Death to America, death to Israel.” Later, according to media reports, flames broke out on the territory of the embassy.

In an attempt to disperse the crowd, security forces used tear gas. In addition, shots were heard in the diplomatic area. According to the channel “Air Arabia”, the US ambassador fled from Baghdad in a panic. His whereabouts remain unknown.

As reported by News Front, the previously Iraqi military base, where the American armed forces are stationed, was shelled, resulting in the death of a US citizen. At the same time, the United States responded by staging a punitive action, striking against the objects of the Shiite formation, explaining this as “containing Iran.”
