The personal lawyer of U.S. President Donald Trump Rudy Giuliani in September 2018 held informal telephone conversations with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the Washington Post reported citing sources.
In May 2018, elections were held in Venezuela, Maduro won, gaining 6.19 million votes (about 68%). He became president for the period 2019–2025.
