Illegal armed groups continue to violate the cessation of hostilities, including that on the territory of the largest city in Syria – Allepo, where over the past 24 hours the number of shellings has doubled. The area of the city called Tishrin, where 1070 residential apartment buildings previously stood, is completely destroyed.
Major General Yuri Borenkov, head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in the Syrian Arab Republic, told the reporters that violations of the cessation of hostilities by illegal armed groups continue to gain momentum in the Idlib de-escalation zone. In total over the past day, 55 shellings were recorded. Militants shelled dozens of settlements in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Idlib.
Shelling of Allepo continues daily, the few residents who stayed here are afraid to be killed. The local resident, Mahmoud Kublawi, remained the only tenant on his street; he managed to take his family away from here. But with the onset of darkness, he does not leave the house, since a mine can fly at any moment.
“Look what they did to our street, everything is broken, not a whole house is left, we have many people dead, a month ago we thought that everything was calming down, people were going to return, but now the militants are shooting at us again constantly”, – complains Kublavy.
Another resident of Allepo Abdul Munaem used to be a famous chef in the city, but with a mine explosion he crushed leg bones, which had to be amputated, and his vision was lost due to a head injury. He became disabled, his wife does all the housework, the eldest son sends money to the family, but they are not enough.
“There is only bread in the refrigerator, on a shelf of a jar of olives, there is no more food. Even a small stove is drowned with pieces of plywood”, – he said.
