US leader Donald Trump demanded to immediately begin the trial of impeachment in the US Senate, RIA Novosti reported.
“After the Democrats did not provide me with proper legal proceedings in the House of Representatives, without lawyers, without witnesses, without anything, they still want to tell the Senate how to carry out the process. Actually, they (Democrats, – ed.) have zero evidence whatever it is, they will never even appear. They want to get rid of it. I want an immediate process!” – Trump wrote on Twitter.
“Trump demanded to immediately begin the trial in the Senate, because the Democrats in the House of Representatives are in no hurry to transfer their charges there – they say, until the Senate gives the appropriate assurances that the hearings will go according to the scenario that the Democrats would like to see. And if this scenario doesn’t suit them, they won’t transfer their accusations there and continue the investigation – this is a question. This is a political game. Of course, the Democrats may want something, but demand a script from the Senate which they themselves will indicate, I think, they are unlikely to succeed. But they can not transfer the matter, pull it. But there is no reason for the Republicans to delay the presidential election. Therefore, Trump demands that the process be started in the Senate”, – expert Yuriy Rogulin said.
