The British have ignored speculation about the “Russian footprint” that allegedly caused Brexit, and the replication of myths about the “Russian threat” has not led to anything, said Elena Panina, a member of the State Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee, commenting on the evidence that conservatives receive an absolute majority in the British parliamentary elections.
According to exit poll data published by the national media, the Conservative Party receives an absolute majority in the British parliamentary elections. At the moment the results of voting at 634 polling stations out of 650 are summed up. Conservatives already have 354 seats in parliament (out of 650), Labour has 202, and Scottish nationalists have 46.
“The strong victory of Brexit supporters in the parliamentary elections means that from now on the process is irreversible and nothing can reverse it. At the same time, the reaction of the British, who ignored the “Russian footprint” and “Russian intervention”, which allegedly caused Brexit, is indicative. The exploitation of myths about the Russian threat has not led to anything”, – said Panina.
From her point of view, this indicates that the British voter has developed a certain immunity to try to play the anti-Russian card in the internal political struggle.
